I'm almost 1 year post op but sometimes out of no where I wake up

in the morning with an awful pain in my stomach. It's hard to explain the feeling cause I never had them prior to surgery. But it constant and with the pain, I usually throw up just saliva. For the next several days I have a pain in my stomach from the dry heaves. I can't remember what I ate that might of cause it the day before and I don't think it's always the same. Happens about once a month. Any ideas what could be causing this. I haven't talked to my doctor for close to a year now. happens
