I wanted to hear from post-ops who feel/felt they could eat a lot early on.
I worry I can eat too much. I am only 3 months post op and can eat "average" size portions of food (3 oz. meat, small potatoe with lowfat topping, and 1/3 cup veggies)and still feel hungry an hour or so later at which point I eat again. I'm transected so I doubt it's a stapleline breakdown, and reconnection of the stomach. I don't dump, I don't drink with my meals, I take my vities religiously, I eat protein first...don't suppliment protein because my surgeon told me after 8 weeks I don't need to. I don't have an exercise regime at this point, but am so much more active than I have been in years, take the stairs, shop til I drop, etc. I weigh myself once a week, and have had a couple of weeks where I actually gained a pound or two. Has anyone else been in my boat and thought they wouldn't loose weight, but actually went on to be successful? How did you manage food? I already feel like I have to use will power to keep my volumn down. I don't really crave anything, like I used to...I'm just hungry all the time. I am down 45 lbs...I was down 46 until this morning :( Thanks for any input. -Kim
