Two weeks to long for scallops?

I bought a pound of fresh scallops a month ago and froze them right away. About two weeks ago I thawed them out and ate 1/3 of them. With the holidays I forgot they were still in the frig (thawed not frozen). To much old stuff in the frig that I did'nt see them. Anyway, I just found them today! It's been around 14-17 days (if I remember right) since they were thawed out. I was about sick to think that I could have ate them and did'nt see them all this time. Anyway, they are in zip lock bags. I was surprised that they smell ok. Yet my gut feeling is to throw them away. Does anyone know if it is safe to fry em and eat them at this point? Usually if things smell ok they are. However seems it would be taking a chance with my health. (Ahhhh! $9 a pound and I forgot they were in the frig).
