Does anyone else dump on Turbinado Sugar?

I heard so much about baking with Turbinado Sugar before the holidays, that I went out and found some. I tried making an apple pie using just 2/3 cup for a 9 inch pie. Apples and applesauce don't bother me, but a 2 in. slice of pie made me queasy, shakey, dizzy and feel just awful. I thought we could tolerate this kind of sweetener. It got the box down and read it more closely. It says it's natural sugar from sugar cane. Well, the Dixie Crystals granulated white sugar says pretty much the same thing. What's the deal???
