DOES PRE-EXISTING CLAUSE APPLY IN THIS CASE??????

I HAVE BC/BS OF MS AS MY PRIMARY INSURANCE. THEY HAVE DENIED SURGERY OF ANY KIND FOR MORBID OBESITY. I AM ACQUIRING AETNA PPO AS MY SECONDARY INSURANCE. IF THERE IS A PRE-EXSTING CLAUSE WOULD IT APPLY TO ME? I SAW THE DR. OVER A YEAR AGO ABOUT THE SURGERY. WAS DENIED OVER A YEAR AGO. ANY IDEAS???
