What is this empty, uncomfortable feeling in stomach?

For the past week I have had this discomfort in the middle of my abdomen. It is not a sharp pain, but it is constant. It starts as an empty feeling like I'm hungry (eating does relieve it, but only for about 20 mins) then it seems to expand and is more uncomfortable till it seems like it will be sharp and then dies down.(this increase and decrease only takes about a minute, but it happens again every 10 mins or so and the empty feeling lasts all day.) I'm eating small amounts of soup broth about every 2 hours and I sip water or crystal lite all day. I am 4 weeks post op and on a pureed diet. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Will this ever go away?? Thank you so much!!
