Can I start the insurance request over?

Several months ago I was denied coverage for gastric bypass surgery because of a written exclusion. I appealed and was denied. I had another appeal process where you can submit your information to a group of people in person. I quess I chickened out. I haven't saw my PCP in several months, but my elderly father has the same doctor. He asked my father about me Friday and wanted to know had I had my surgery. My father told him no. He sent me a message home with my father. Don't let them win. My request is valid and medically necessary. He has been my primary doctor for at least 12 years he said I can prove medical neccessity. I'm not sure if I can start this process over again. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Chattanooga PPO Blue prefered plan.
