Will Ulcerative Colitis prevent me from being a WLS candidate?

I'm 46 years old with a BMI of 44. My health is definitely affected by my weight and I'm just beginning to consider wls. I've had both Inflamatory Bowel Disease and Irritable Bowel Syndrome for over 15 years. I've never needed prednisone but do take Asacol on a regular basis. Going to the bathroom 6 times a day is normal for me. A few times a year I have a flare up involving more urgent and frequent bm's, pain and nausea. Has anyone with a history similar to mine had wls surgery? I've heard that Ulcerative Colitis is a pretty quick disqualification from some and a "no problem" from others. Any thoughts?
