Shunt for Pulmonary Embolism

I know this has been discussed, but don't know what to search for. Some of you have mentioned an apparatus that is inserted into your artery during WLS that filters blood clots to minimize risks of pulmonary embolisms -- what is this called? If you've had this, please respond or email me - I have several friends that would like info on this prior to their surgery.
