Is is normal not to be able to keep foods down?

My best freind is 8 month post-op. She was doing fine now she cant keep any food down. She will eat and the food will come right back up. It will never hit her stomach because that is all she will through up is what she just ate. She does not have trouble keeping her liquids down just most of her foods. Can anybody help? This just started and we dont know what to do. Thanks
