Weight index other than the BMI

Recently heard of an obese person in the hospital and the Dr.'s were considering an eval for bariatric surgery. A Dr. stated that the patient needed to have an "index" of 75 and was currently in the 130's. I know about the BMI but these numbers don't jive. Does anyone know about this index or numbers?
