Has anyone ever appealed after they have had the surgery?

I didn't want to wait around for the insurance to decide my fate. They denied me. I was able to come up with most of the money. I'd like to get some back if at all possible. Let me know what you all think my chances are. Thanks so much. I had my surgery 2-10-03 and wouldn't go back for anything.
