1 wk Post Op, doc wants 8 weeks of liquid only

My surgeon wants me on an 8 week post op liquid diet. I can't do it. A lot of other WLS patients I know have never heard of it being done that way. So what do I do? I want to stick to the docs directions, but it is not sustaining me. What should I do?
