Do we HAVE to eat vegetables?
I'm asking this not because I don't like vegetables...I really do. But, I'm concentrating on eating mostly protein (meat) at the moment. I'm three months post-op and trying very hard to get in my 60 grams of protein a day, and it just seems that vegetables don't have much (if any) protein in them. A typical day for me would be--Breakfast: CIB with milk and protein powder OR 8 oz. yogurt; Lunch: 2-3 oz. lunch meat (no bread) or a protein bar; and Dinner: 2-3 oz. of fish, chicken, beef, etc. I keep reading where people stress a balanced diet, but honestly, I barely have enough room for the protein I eat, much less vegetables, rice, pasta, etc. Is this OK?
