Why take children's vitamins?

I bought a pill pulverizer today and I see seveal Q&A's regarding vitamins today. Can we take regular adult vitamins post-op if we pulverize them? I take 2 Calcium+D and Centrium Silver and they're big + an assortment of other smaller pills. Thanks,
