Does anyone use vaccum sealers??

I'm wondering if anyone has found a vaccum sealer to be helpful post-op for things like: saving leftovers; cooking meals ahead of time and then being able to just nuke the bag or pop it in a pot of boiling water; still being able to buy in bulk, but sealing stuff so it doesn't go bad; using it to marinade foods (my surgeon's RD reccomended marinading to increase flavor).
