upper gi i came back with a problem

i had surgery may 9th 2002 and i have only lost 44 lbs i went wednesday the 30th of oct. to have an upper gi done the dr. office called today and said the stuff you drink when having the test done is not doing what it is supost to do that there is something wrong with the staple line my dr. was on vaction and she didnt realy know all the facts but i have to go nov. 22 to the dr. to find out what is wrong and to see if i need another surgery has this happend to any one eles what was wrong is what im eating just storing in my old stomach? can i get sick from this if i wait to long to have the other surgery?
