How long will it take for my inflamed intestines to get better?

I had a proximal RNY on 1/11/02. The day after surgery I vomited during the Upper GI. My doctor says that my intestines are inflammed and I was not able to eat or drink ANYTHING until Monday, when I had another Upper GI. As of today (Monday)I am allowed to drink one ounce of liquid per hour. I have been unable to drink liquids without severe burping/voimiting of very frothy saliva. Has anyone else had this problem? and if so, how long did it take to get rid of it?? I feel okay so far, but I don't know how much longer I'll be able to deal with so few liquids. Thanks
