How do you eat out when you are on the run?

I am going on a trip to Massachusetts and doing sight seeing. We will be eating on the run. What will I do if the places we stop to eat at, don't have the type of food I should be eating? If I bring food with me, it's kind of hard to keep lunch an dinner cold if you will be sight seeing. Any suggestions?
