Could eating a larger meal than normal yesterday make me hungry today?

I am 4 weeks post-op and yesterday I ate a modified Thanksgiving meal: a tiny slice of turkey, a tbs mash potatoes, a bit of sweet potatoes and mashed jeruselem archichokes. About two hours later I had a tiny sliver of pumpkin pie (just the insides no crust). I have to say it was the best meal I have had since surgery and I felt the best after eating (I usually feel nauseaus after eating). Well today I am starving! It seems every hour or so I am hungry again. I am trying to push it to two hours but for the first time since surgery I feel hungry. Is this normal or did I screw something up yesterday?
