Why do some doctors use G tubes on the lapiscopic gastric bypass?

Why do some doctors put G tubes in patients and other doctors don't? My doctor does and my girlfriend who had her lapiscopic gastric bypass didn't have G tubes does anybody know why? Thanks Cheryl
