What do all the various acronyms (e.g., NG) mean when speaking of tubes inserted pre-

and post-op. I'm pre-op and am curious about all the tubes I've seen referred to in various posts. Can someone tell me what the different types of tubes are, where they are placed, and how long they are typically in before they are removed?
