What is the average number of days in hopsital for Open RNY?

My surgery is scheduled for October 24. When I met with the surgeon he told me I would be in the hospital for 4-5 days if there were no complications. I received a letter in the mail from Aetna yesterday saying I had been approved for a 3 day stay. 3 days does not seem like enough time especially with an Open RNY. Will Aetna approve for a longer hospital stay if the doctor recommends it? I am also concerned about this because I will be traveling out of town to have my surgery.
