Anyone had cortisone injected at incision site to reduce scarring?

At 9 wks post-op I still have pain around the top part of my incision line. The scar is like a raised ridge (more raised towards the top) about 1/4 inch wide. It is very bumpy, maybe this is keloiding? I was really caught off guard on this because my 3 c-section scars are completely flat and practically invisible and were that way from the beginning. My surgeon says he can inject cortisone around the scar which may help but recommends waiting a while to see if it gets better as the injections can be uncomfortable. Has anyone had this done and if so, how much did it hurt, and did it really help? I'm not so much concerned about the appearance of the scar, but I'd like to get rid of the discomfort.
