Does insurance cover lap RNY as easily as open?
Has anyone had a problem with their insurance covering a lap as easily as an open? I've read that a lap costs more so I wondered if insurance companies wouldn't approve a lap due to the additional expense? I'm curious why a lap cost more since you're in the hospital less time. I'd rather have a lap but I would possibly use another surgeon if I thought my insurance would only cover an open. I realize I can ask this, I just wondered what everyones experience with this was.
