My consultation is scheduled for July 31st .What happens next?

The first opening my surgeon has isn't until July 31st. The receptionist said that gastrointestional bypass surgery isn't an emergency ( little does she know!) Anyway what should I expect? What should I bring? Has anyone ever been refused after consultation? I am so excited and nervous and... How can I wait that long!?! What tests were required? How long from consultation until surgery? Thanks!!!
