Anyone on Lithium; have lots of questions?

I was on Wellbutrin SR, but after a month of no improvement, the Dr. wants to put me on Lithium. That scares me tremendously. Maybe I just need to discuss this with my WLS surgeon prior to switching? Maybe I just need to change to another type of Wellbutrin or even another antidepressant. HELP!!!!
