I have my surgery on next Friday May 30th

My doc doesn't usually transect the stomach. Are there any long term post ops that were not transected and having problems. My doctor says that there really isn't a problem here. The problem is the area where the intestine is connected to the new pouch. The problem is whether it closes or not.My doc left the choice up to me. What should i do?
