What size swim suit should I buy for the end of summer?

I get to swim on Monday as I will be 6 weeks post-op and my incision is healed! So I have a size 30 swimsuit which fits. I also have a size 26 swimsuit that I had bought on sale for "the future". I just saw a swimsuit that I LOVE in a catalog for 50% off...but what size should I buy? I thought at first a 28 to wear after the 30 is too big...or should I get a smaller size to wear at the end of summer...like a 24? I've lost 30 lbs since surgery. How quickly did others out there skip sizes? I can't imagine being in a 24 anything by the end of summer!
