I have caught a cold.......

I have caught a cold from my kids. I just have a cough, drainage. I am not running a fever. My surgery is the 25th...2 weeks away. I have high blood pressure so I cannot take regular over the counter cough meds. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to take to get rid of this before my surgery? If I still have the cough, will they still do the surgery? If not.... I think I will go totally postal!!! Thanks for any advice! God bless!
