I made it, but I'm hungry

I had my surgery on Monday, I have to be on sraight liquids until I see the doctor on Thursday. I find myself very hungry which everyone says that's a good sign of recovery, but is it? I hear so many people say they never have an appetite. Does this mean the surgery won't work or is it because of being on all liquids? And it's real hunger where my stomach feels hungry not head hunger.
