Should I perm prior to surgery?

My hair stylist suggested a body wave when I told her that I was having WLS at the end of the month. She says that it will add body which will help cover up hair loss. (Her mom and sister have both had WLS) I don't normally have my hair permed and am not sure whether or not this is a good idea. Has anyone else had a perm or body wave prior to surgery for this reason?
