Has anyone that has BC/BS Alliance of Missouri been turned down?

I just went for my first consultation with the surgeon and he agrees that surgery is right for me. He is now sending my insurance company his letter. He told me to contac them from my end and see if they cover the surgery. I made the contact and was told that this is not a covered proceedure. The lady told me that the medical board will review the letter my doctor sends but that's all the info she gave me. I am so scared that they will reject me.
