I'm still having IV site pain 4 weeks post-op. Is this normal?

My RYGB was 4 weeks ago, but I find that places near two IVs were on my arm are still tender/painful. For example, I had an IV on the back of my hand, but there is a painful "knot" (clot?) about two inches below that site. I yelp when my toddler brushes up against it. Ditto for a spot near my elbow (from another IV site). Is it normal to experience residual IV site pain? Thanks for any input.
