Can I take anything pre-op for alergies?

I think I have an alergy but am not sure if I can take anything. My pre-op appt. is tomorrow and surgery on 11/7. I have been taking Veetid (antibiotic) for over a week now and my cough and voice is still bad. Could be bronchitis but I would of thought that the veetid would of cleared it up. Is there any allergy meds I can take? Thanks
