What happens when your family is not supportive?

My surgery date is set for Jan. 12 and I am 99% sure I want to do this, but because my husband does not agree with my upcoming endevor (he has basically told me that he cannot support me afterwards when he doesn't agree with it) I am feeling very scared as to what it will be like without the emotional support of the most important person in my life? Can I do this on my own? Please help!
