Help!!! Military wife who has questions about follow up.....

I am a military wife who had to move from where I had my surgery. My PCM here doesn't seem to know anything about follow up for my gastric bypass. I just had my gallbladder removed Monday. Should I ask that surgeon about follow up. I don't want to leave this to the guess work of the local PCM.
