Having internal bleeding; dr's unsure of source of bleeding???
HELP!!! I am having problems with internal bleeding, I had this problem 2 years ago (which was 3 years post-op), I first threw up blood and then black tarry bowels. At that time I they did the scope down my throat and thought I had an ulcer that was healing in my new stomach. I recieved 4 units of blood and then two months later, had the problem again, another scope this time the ulcer had "healed" but again, 4 more units of blood. My surgeon did some tests but never could discover the cause of the bleeding. Now here we are 2 years later (6 yrs post-op); and the black bowels are back but what is weird this time is they might be black once today and then nothing for a few weeks or even a month but I do have terrible stomach pain. I was referred to a specialist who scoped me but there is NOTHING in my new stomach; he thought maybe I had an ulcer in my old stomach. I am going to have the scope up the other end in two weeks. I had to have 4 units of blood the other week. This week when I went to see the specialist I got the feeling the almost didn't believe me about the black bowel movements b/c e said it is not normal to have them only once and than not again for a few weeks. I told him I realized this b/c last time I had them more often which is why I almost didn't go to the doctor this time. We have no local surgeon's who perform the gastric by-pass so I can not even ask for referral to be seen by a doctor who performs the surgery. PLEASE IF ANYONE HAS ANY ANSWERS PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME!! I am really scared and not sure what to do. Thank you so much.
