About how long does it take before you can actually have the surgery?

I was just curious about the time frame from the time you first made an appointment with the surgeon till the time you scheduled your surgery? This is a big deal for me and is something I have been considering for a VERY long time. I think i finally worked up enough courage to do this surgery and would love some imput!
