CURE FOR DRY MOUTH????

I AM 15 DAYS POST OP TODAY AND I CANT GET RIDE OF DRY MOUTH. I AM SO THIRSTY AND CANT SEEM TO DO ANYTHING TO QUENCH MY THIRST. WATER DOESNT HELP, CRYSTAL LIGHT DOESNT HELP. I KNOW IM GETTING DRY MOUTH FROM THE PROTINE SHAKES, BUT I HAVE TO STILL DRINK THEM. B4 SURGERY I WOULD JUST CHEW SOME GUM, BUT I HAVE BEEN TOLD NOT TO FOR THE SAKE OF SWALLOWING IT. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
