Amount of food intake for rest of life???

I was at my doctory follow up appointment last week and I asked if there was a special diet that we were to follow. (12 weeks out)I was told NO just to avoid fat and sugers and white starches eating proteins first as in week seven. I was so shocked at this no diet thing that I forgot to ask if we were only allowed to eat 1/2 cup of food for the rest of our lives. Any one know?? ( I was operated by Dr. Graber in Utica NY on Feb 11, 2010.)
