Has anyone decided to not tell certain relatives about weight loss surgery

I am having a difficult time coming up with a way to tell my parents (in their 80's) about my WLS. They just won't understand how and why I had this done. Also my parents health is not very good. My siblings know and are very supportive, and been told to just make up excuse or ?
