Anyone have/having Iron IV (RNY post-op)??

I'm 1yr 7mos out (RNY), and have had a severe iron anemia ever since. Yes, I've been on Iron supplements. My PCM started Iron IM, but I am reluctant to continue- tatooing, etc. My gastric bypass doc recommends IV- says stop the IM. Anyone having the IV on a regular basis and doing well with it??
