Why am I having nausea and have not eaten yet?

I am 31/2 wkkes post op and everyday I am nauseated. At first I thought it was because I ate to fast, now I'm nauseated even when I don't eat. Even drinking a sip of water makes me want to vomit. This has me a worried. I have lost almost 40 pounds and I'm glad of that, but I don't want to become malnourished. Can anyone give me some advise?...
