protein shake makes me gag

Please help had surgery 12/7 all liquids are staying down but i tried several protein shakes and drinks they make me gag and the after taste is terrible is there any kind of pill i can crush up. I also notice that my body is shaking is that because i'm not eating so much once i eat the shaking goes away...
