What is a

I am having surgery on 4-25-00 and included in my Pre Admissions Test are an EKG, Chest Xray, Blood work, and a NON AVASIVE or NON INVASIVE veinous test...What exactly is it and how is it done...is it like ultrasound or sonogram? I looked through the questions and answers page but couldnt find any info...maybe I am spelling it incorrectly...please fill me in as I am having the test done on Monday. Is this a test to find out if I will need a vena cava filter?
