I had my 1st fill yesterday. It hurt and I'm sore. Is this normal?

I had my Surgery on Aug 19th. My first fill yesterday Sept 29. The needle didnt really hurt and i could feel the band tighten. It wasnt till i was driving home that i wasnt feeling well. Its not too tight because i can get water and small amounts of soft food down. Just wondering if this is normal or if anyone else got sore.
