How effective are bc pills post op?

I know this question has been asked before. I am on bc pills and wanted to switch to the bc patch. After research I found out that the patch is not effective for women that weigh over 198 lbs. I have read that bc pills are not absorbed as well after surgery. Can I please hear from women that have been sucessful on the pill after surgery. Thank you.
