Cigna Open acesss plus, has anyone had them deny the surgery after 6 months diet .

In January my Dr's office was told Cigna Open access plus would cover the surgery after a 6 month supervised diet. I did this as well as psych eval and sleep study, ect. After 7months of preperation Cigna denied the surgery saying they no longer cover this surgery after July 1st. I was not notified of any change in coverage. I called Cigna and they said I never had coverage for this surgery from the begining, but my Surgeon's office has documentation they called and were told it was covered. I have jumped through all their hoops and now they tell me they don't cover the surgery. Has anyone had this happen of something similar? if so what did you do? I don't want to give up.
