Is RNY open ever performed with a HORIZONTAL INCISION at the waist line?

I was going for a Lap procedure due to the scaring, recovery etc. but recently found out insurance will not cover Lap. Has to be open, but have heard of "U or V" and vertical incisions. Any horizontal waist line?
